She died in an airplane-related accident later that year.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Peter Sis<\/strong> (born Brno, Moravia, Czechoslovakia, 1949) writes and illustrates books for children. He has received many awards for his books. He has received three Caldecott Honor Awards: <em>Starry Messenger: Galileo Galilee<\/em> in 1997, <em>Tibet Through the Red Box<\/em> in 1999, and <em>The Wall: Growing Up behind the Iron Curtain<\/em> in 2008. The last book also earned the Robert F. Sibert Medal for Informational Books. Sis has also earned the very prestigious Han Christian Andersen Award for Illustration in 2012.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Zilpha Keatley Snyder<\/strong> (born Lemoore, California, 1927; died San Francisco, California, October 8, 2014) wrote at least 46 books for children.
