Presidential Proclamation has declared the week to be the first or second week in October since 1925. This year Fire Prevention Week starts October 5 and ends on October 10. This year&#8217;s theme is <em>Smoke Alarms: Make Them Work for You!<\/em> Children could visit a website at: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nfpa.org\/safety-information\/fire-prevention-week\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Fire Prevention Week<\/a>. Idea: Perhaps a firefighter could visit the classroom and share fire safety information.<br \/>\n<strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><em>National School Lunch Week<\/em><\/span><\/strong> is observed by Presidential Proclamation for the week beginning with the second Sunday in October. The year 1962 marked the first observance of this week. This year National School Lunch Week begins October 12 and ends October 16. Presidential Proclamations have been issued for National Forest Products Week since 1960. This year National Forest Products Week is celebrated from October 18 through October 24.
